A SEN Teaching Assistant is needed, for an ongoing role for a schoolwhich caters for the needs of autistic students in the Newton Aycliffe area. Experience in supporting children with these needs would be an advantage but is not essential - a willingness to learn and engage with SEN children is the most important quality we are looking for. Ideally you will have a Teaching Assistant qualification to at least Level 2 but if not another relevant education qualification such as a PGCE or Youth Work qualification is needed.

Although the role is classed as supply, given the nature of the School, they strongly believe in the students being around the same people, on a consistent basis. Therefore, there is a probability of continued work, year round.

At all times you will, be working with other experienced Teaching Assistants and the class teacher.

You will have or be prepared to obtain a DBS check and we will need to carry out our vetting checks in a face to face interview at our Sunderland office. In addition, we will need to take up at least two references.
